Kikyo was a miko entrusted by the semon exterminators to guard the Shikon no Tama, she slayed many yokais that tried to gain possession of the jewel, howeber, she couldn't force herself to slay Inu Yasah, She felt as though Inu Yasha was isles from his kind, as she was with hers. She would immoblize Inu Yasha when he attempted to steal the Shikon no Tama, and had a brief conversation with him. They soon spend more time together and grew feelings of love for each other, Kikyo told Inu Yasha that tthe Shikon no Tama could make him into a full human as opposed to his original intention of becoming a full yokai. Kikyo speculated that if the jewel were used to turn Inu Yasha into a full human, it would be purified and vanish, which would free Kikyo to protect the Jewel and live as a normal women with Inu Yasha.
Following day, Kikyo arrives where they wanted to meet, but Inu Yasha didn't show up, When she went out into a field to find him, she was attacked by Naraku, disguised as Inu Yasha. She fell on the ground as he escape with the Shikon no Tama, proclaming he had "no intrest of being a human" and that the jewel needed to "absorbe even more bitter blood" effectively framing Inu Yasha for his evil deed. She stumble bakc to the village injured, only to find that the real Inu Yasha, who was also tricked by Naraku thinking Kikyo wanted to kill him, attacked the village and was about to escape with the Shikon no Tama. With her last strength, she shot a sealing arrow (Fuin no Ya)at Inu Yasha, sealing him to the Scared Tree (Goshinboku). She then fell instantly agter Inu Yasha was sealed, and told her sister Kaede to burn the Shikon no Tama with her body to assure that none through a curse laid by Tsubaki, when she told Kikyo that" a miko must abandon her heart to achieve power...this includes love as well..."
Kikyo wears a miko outfit and uses bows and arrows as weapon...her age was 17 the name Kikyo means "Chinese Bellflower" in Japanese
Kokyo has been dead for 50 years until a yokai Kijo Urasue attack her village and stole Kikyo's ashes along with some burial soel from her grave, using her magic, she re-created Kikyo's body in hoped that Kikyo would find and the find the Shikon shards but, to the old yokai dismay, Kikyo's soul had not returned to her body.Angered for a while, until Kagome, Inu Yasha, along with Shippo and Kaede were attacked by Urasue's gurads, with a wuick attack, the yokai had Kikyo's reincarnated soul and eventually totally revived Kikyo, who immediately killed Urasue and attack Inu Yasha. Kagome somehow manage to get most of her soul back after assault. With only one part of soul within Kikyo, she fled. Fueled by the bitter hatred she felt for Inu Yasha at the moment of ther death. Kikyo's attacks were Hama no Ya (破魔の矢) magic of arrow of a shrine maiden. Fūin no Ya (封印の矢)Arrow of sealing the one she use on Inu Yahsa, Purification, able to purifyanything she touches. Miko's powers (Hama no reiryoku) Kikyo is resurrected, she sues some type of power that's different from the purification. Barrier(kakkai) Kikyo is able to create brrier which aids her in hiding her aura.
Kikyo used to have a calm priestess with good manner, her kindness towards helped severak people that she met along her path. Her intelligence was definityly one of ther traits, and she often smiles, it also showen her internal safness as well. After she was reincarnated, her personality became cold and revenge of Inu Yasha betraying her. At the end of chapter 462, Kagome was shocked to find that the Shikon no Tama was inside Kikyo's body, with the help of Kagome's sacred arrow, Kikyo purifies the Jewel, and fires the arrow out of her bod and at Naraku, His shouki is only able to corrupt half of the Jewel and Kikyo's spiritual power and Naraku's jyaki begin to battle within the Jewel. But Naraku's darkness over come Kikyo's power, completely corrupting the Jewel. Kikyo wealky tells Kagome that the rest's up to her. And that the bow from Mt Asuza now belongs to her. Kogome ask what Kikyo means, but before Kikyo can continue, Naraku claims that Kikyo had lost to his juaki and strikes at her with one of his tentacles, Inu Yasha shlashes through before it could get near Kikyo and Kagome, but Naraku tells Inu Yasha that he'll need to start thinking of how to defeat him without Kikyo. Sesshomaru, in an overgrown field with Kohaku and Rin, comments that the scent of wind has changes, and that it's too late, Kaede also notice this, nothing that the sunset in the colour of blood. With Naraku gone, Inu Yasha holds Kikyo in his arms with his hair covering his face. he ask the others for some privacy. Kagome has her hands on her face, trying to hide her tears, unable to save Kikyo. Kikyo wishes Kagome not to cry, for she feels her soul has finally been saved. Inu Yasha also cried that he could not save her...with his tears droped on Kikyo's face, Kikyo continues to smile ar him saying that he came for her and that was good enough. She id still smiling up at him lovingly, her first smile in a long while, they kiss one final time. Kikyo calls his name in her mind and looks at him with eye full of tears. Still smiling, Kikyo peacefully disappears into a bright cluster of souls and light, which the Shinidamachuu(死魂虫Kikyo's dead soul insects, known as Soul collectors in the dub of the anime, it collects souls to help Kikyo stay alive) whirl around as it glows among the group. Shippo said that looks as if her soul is bidding farewell to them all, and Kagome notices how warm it was. Shinidamachuu then carries Kikyo's soul into the sky...Kikyo's last separting words were a promisr that she'll always protect Inu Yasha... T-T
